#TheVoiceNigeria Season 2 Finale - Candid Opinion Corner

The Voice Season 2 has finally come to an end. After weeks of training and performances and voting, we finally have a winner. Idyl. Definitely not who I had predicted would win but at least he’s way better than the other option. He’s a great singer. Ebube on the other hand though… I don’t know what to say at this point.

I guess I could start by asking these salient questions. How the hell did Ebube get selected over Yimika? Who did the voting? Did those people have ears or did they vote primarily based on sentiments? Who are his sponsors? He definitely has to have someone sponsoring his voting or something because Yimika is a far more better singer when compared to Ebube. He’s also a better performer and has better charisma and packaging . Did you guys notice how Ebube went off key in his supposed finale performance? Celine Dion could sue him for ruining that beautiful song. The song he sang, had no semblance to the one Celine Dion made.

Also, how did he make it to the top 2 finalists? What went wrong? Why wasn’t Syemca there? Arrggggh 😠😠😠, so many unanswered questions. When Syemca had made it to the top 4, I was relieved. Then they were to announce the 2nd runner up. I had been bragging to my brother that it wouldn’t be Syemca and lo and behold, I was humbled. Shocked even. What had happened?

I am starting to think this whole thing was staged starting from the point when I witnessed that talented 19 year old singer left the show. Some of the best voices never even had a chance and yet Ebube got there? What is wrong with you Nigerians? While we are still on that, did anyone notice Ik kept reminding us that it was based on our votes that these people were selected? Who else noticed how Patoranking seemed so cocky and confident when the winner was to be announced? Who also noticed how he never appeared after the winner was announced? In all honesty, this is officially the worst voice talent show I ever followed. I don't think I would be awaiting the next season

Anyways, it turns out, I am not the only one who felt this way. My parents who followed it religiously as well as my brother also share the same sentiments with me. But enough about me and my family.

This just sums up my opinion about the show.
This final tweet, however just sums up the whole events surrounding the show. We definitely need to work on that as a people.

Hey people. A few days back Remy Ma, who I honestly had no idea who she was till that time, dropped a 7 minute long rap diss track, Shether  to shade Nicki and the whole internet was on fire. She was the rave of the moment. The buzz was so much I had to listen to the track myself even though I am not a big fan of rap. Even though I do love Nicki, I did have to admit she had murdered her in that track. Like literally. It had been brutal. So I kept quiet even though I silently agreed with a very few minority that Nicki should not even bother replying. Remy Ma in my opinion was like this nasty itch you had that you shouldn't scratch else it would get worse. But then about 5 days later Remy releases another diss track calling it ' Another One ' and the internet responds. T

BBNaija - The Kemen Incident and My Take on it.

Big Brother Naija, a show known for its gross immorality and lewd scenes disqualified a participant for being immoral. The irony, I know right? You all know who that housemate is by now. Our brother in the lord, Kemen. The reason being that he was caught on camera groping and sexually harassing Tboss in her sleep. The gist of it has gotten so popular that there's now a new phrase called kemening someone. I don't really have to explain that do I? Ever since he got into the house, the guy had been trying his luck with anything that has a vajay to see where he would fit his dirty agenda into. He had always been a very thirsty nigga. People who watch the show should know. Not out of line, I guess, given the kind of show he was participating in but he just didn't know when not to cross the line. I saw the video footage. #AMVCA2017 - Ama Writes favorites from the red carpet.

The highly anticipated AMVCAs for 2017 has come and ...gone. Personally my favorite part of watching it live was the red carpet event. All those celebrities, their outfits, the glitz, the glam the paparazzi and the buzz that is associated with the red carpet. This year several celebrities showed up even Aunty Oge Okoye, the alleged 'dog thief' came too. Yeah yeah, I know the awards are about celebrating film making in Africa and what not but there are already enough posts on the internet giving you guys a briefing of the awards so I am not going to do that.  Instead I am going to present to you *drum roll*, a list of five outfits, female of course, that I actually really really really liked and are hence the AMA Writes favorites from the red carpet.
